Halifax, September 4, 2018 – Marius Lengkeek, P.Eng., founder of naval architecture and marine
engineering firm Lengkeek Vessel Engineering Inc. (LVE), is pleased to announce the appointment of
Rory Macdonald, P.Eng. as President. Rory has served as Vice President of LVE since 1999, and will take
over the helm as President effective immediately. The firm has restructured its ownership with Mr.
Macdonald becoming the majority shareholder, while Mr. Lengkeek will hold a minority ownership,
along with three longstanding employees.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to take a leadership position in one of the country’s most well known
and reputable naval architecture and marine engineering firms,” says Macdonald, “I look forward to
continuing to work with my long-time partner Marius and our colleagues as we transition and focus on
continued growth.”

Rory will also continue his role as engineering and project manager, with further involvement in the
management of the firm, while Marius, as a director, will continue his role in engineering and project
management support and continued involvement in marketing and customer relations.

“In considering succession planning, it has always been my goal to transition ownership to younger
staff,” says Lengkeek, “I believe that our company’s commitment to its greatest resource, its employees,
is the best method to succeed, to grow, and to maintain and build on our reputation for providing
quality professional services to our valued clients.”
